"But you, my Lord, are the shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high." – Psalm 32:10
This is a truth I’ve learned to embrace in my journey, and I hope it serves as inspiration for you as well.
If you are feeling darkness, know that it's okay. If you are navigating the toughest parts of your life—be it crisis, pain, depression, or mental illness—you are not alone. Everyone faces their own crises and must confront their realities.
Take a moment to reflect on these questions:
What is the toughest experience you have faced in your life?
What has pulled you through those moments?
What was your life like before that experience changed everything?
What steps did you take to navigate through?
How does your life look today?
Mental illness and life’s harsh circumstances can be brutal. Whoever said life was easy certainly didn’t know the full story. Yet, these challenges can serve as a powerful leverage to awaken your inner strength. If you’ve been down, remember: the only direction left is up. You owe it to yourself to rise again. Face your adversities head-on and keep in mind that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Life is for the living. Be more powerful than the darkness that surrounds you. Choose to leave the pain behind and use it to build your character. Remember, you are here for a purpose. Things will not change unless you take that brave step to change. Train your thoughts, channel your beliefs, and focus on the person you aspire to become.
Have a purpose. No one knows everything; it’s essential to maintain a sense of curiosity and openness. Confront the emptiness within you—this is no way to live. If you dwell solely on the darkness and pain you’re experiencing, you risk surrendering to despair. Ask yourself: Would your loved ones truly be better off without you?
Dig deep to find what is missing. Remember, nothing in life is permanent. It's not about being the best at everything; it's about being the best version of yourself. Transform your inner beliefs, and you have the power to change your life.
Be the feeling you wish to feel. Embody the person you want to become. Visualize the life you desire, and trust that things will fall into place. Release the burdens of your past, holding onto only the lessons learned, and remain conscious of the future ahead of you. Use your experiences to illuminate your inner light.
Love yourself fiercely; embrace life through nature, music, and all the joys that resonate with your spirit. Create new, happy memories.
Practice envisioning the life you desire because this chapter is simply a part of your story—there are many more chapters ahead, full of potential for happiness.
Remember, life is a journey.
And always remember, you are not alone. There are people, sprits if you may, and resources available to support you, and your experiences can inspire others. Together, we can create a community of strength and healing.
